The deplorable condition of the capital city of Ghana, Accra, especially the beaches has always been the talk of the town.
Base on this, Lorrenel Charity Organisation has coordinated a clean up exercise under the implementation of the SOSCV Ghana’s Solidarity Fund Project on the Glefe Community.
The clean up exercise which saw many youth ultimately took place in the beaches and rural communities in Accra.
Unlike other clean up exercises, this particular one began with Public education on Sanitation and the need in keeping the beaches and communities healthy and clean.
Meanwhile some citizens of the community’s in which the exercise took place upon interaction revealed that they are willing abide in keeping the beaches clean.
They requested that lack of logistics such as shovels, wheelbarrows etc are equipment needed in such works and so they will be very grateful if NGOs could donate such equipments to them.
They also added that refuse will be limited if stuff like dustbin are put on the corners of the beaches and even om the streets of the township.
Some of the youth also agreed that hence they are going to serve as beach watchdogs to prevent open defecation and indiscriminate disposal of refuse.
