The 20th Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards took place on the 18th of May at the Accra Fantasy Dome which saw alot of music lovers accross the globe coming down to have fun.
The event which kicked off to a beautiful start witnessed some disturbing pitfalls when Bhim Nation President and Reigning Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy was pronounced the winner of the category. His arch enemy in the Dancehall fraternity, Charles Nii Armah Mensah was seen to have stood up in an attempt to approach the stage, which sparked a pandemonium.
Rumor has it that Shatta Wale merely wanted to congratulate his comrade on his win, but other parties are of the opinion that he was unhappy with the pronouncement and wanted to exhibit his displeasure.
Well, one thing led to another and Stonebwoy was seen in the possession of a gun, which we assume was drawn out in self defense.
Bhim Nation’s Stonebwoy was however later seen being escorted out of the premises by Policemen
Just after the awards, Shatta Wale took to his Facebook wall and wrote,
“I have better things to do now than to record a song… Shatta Wale is in different level of life… Music was just a hobby I chose. The story will be, they couldn’t STAND HIM NOR STOP HIM till he got into his Real ESTATE BUSINESS”
From his post, he won’t be doing music again. According to him, he has better things to do, and surely its not related to music.
He’s however quitting music because all seems to be putting blame on him for what happened. Nobody seems to understand him. He is done with music.
