August 4 has been chosen as the date for Founders’ Day by the Akufo-Addo-led administration as it marks two important events in Ghana’s history.
It is the date for the formation of the Aborigines’ Rights Protection Society by John Mensah Sarbah in 1897, and the formation of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) in 1947 by J.B. Danquah and George Alfred “Paa” Grant, Ghana’s first mass political party formed in the Gold Coast to spearhead social agitations for independence.
As part of this year’s celebration which was today, Dancehall Artist Stonebwoy has taken to Twitter to post picture of the big Six with a message to question all Ghanaians.
According to the musician, every era had its dilemmas and everyone trusted that their leadership will bring the best to the people.
In his view, the big six were good leaders and had intentions for posterity but the dream seems to be fulfilled after several leadership.
He however asked who the big six of our era to continue the legacy that Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ofori Atta, Edward Akuffo Addo and others set in motion.
Below was his statement
There was wahala in every era!
Everyone trusted that their leadership will bring the best to the people..
here Are the big 6!! In our time now, who are our own big 6? Pushing to make sure Ghana is a better place built upon the foundation of the above?
