Legendary highlife Singer Rex Omar has added his voice to the treatment given to gospel musicians by religious leaders.
In an interview on Adom fm, the chairman of GHAMBRO noted that he doesn’t go to church because his religious life goes beyond just going to church.
He continued to say that there is discrimination in the church because people perceive secular musicians as artists who are doing music for the devil while gospel musicians for God.
He added that with this ascertain gospel musicians are not even paid for their work done when invited to perform in churches.
“The pastors will stand on the pulpit, preach and take their salary from the church but a gospel musician will perform and after they will say God bless you”. – he said In twi.
He shared that God bless you doesn’t put food on the table as religious people make it seems.
